And to top it all off, her own theme park!

I doubt there's a person alive who doesn't know who she is... if not from her music, then from the big hair, her TOP-HEAVY body, the long fingernails or the most infectious smile and laugh imaginable!

To maintain the integrity of the sample, the following images are large and will take a few moments to download. Thank you for your patience.

Figure 1

The slant...

Her handwriting has a strong right slant. Slant relates to your emotional outlay. So, we know that she is a very emotional person with a broad range of emotions from the highest highs to the lowest lows. Because of this, she often needs time to "recharge her emotional batteries".

She is a very thoughtful and caring individual, who relates very easily with the problems of others... whether it be family, fans, or even animals.

Spacing of the writing...

The narrow spacing between the lines of her writing, suggests that she's at times an impulsive person, who relies on her gut feelings and reactions when dealing with things around her. It also tells us that she is very conscious of the need to use her resources, both money, time and talent, very carefully.

If you were to draw a straight line under each word, you'd notice that her writing stays mostly on the line. This fairly straight line shows her willpower, reliability, and common sense... all being steady and consistent.

Figure 2

Now, let's look at some specific's of her handwriting...

The first letter we are going to look at is the "k" letter in "knowledge" and "making" (Fig.2).

This large lower case letter indicates her defiance at doing what other people THINK she should do. Instead she will do what SHE thinks needs to be done. I would say she was somewhat rebellious when she was a teenager!

Characteristics in the small letter "t" reveals several aspects of her personality.

Her "t-bar" is located high on the stem, which signifies her good self esteem. She sets her goals and standards high and is willing to work hard to obtain them. Her good sense of self-worth is the best personality trait you can have for a healthy relationship and good career.

The "t-bar" has a blunt end, indicating her ability to act and talk in a confident, self-assured manner.

The letter "o" has no inner loops...

This type "o" shows her candid, blunt and sometimes brutally honest personality. It also tells us that she hates deceit and secrecy. She wants to "tell it like it is" and expects others to do the same.

The humps on the letters "m" and "n" slant uphill and are both rounded and pointed on top.

The uphill slant indicates her fear of being ridiculed and rejected. She wants to be liked by all and is very conscious of doing things in a positive and non-offensive way.

The humps are both rounded and pointed indicating her ability to adapt to the people around her... if she's with "fast" thinkers, she can speed up her actions. If she's with a slow talker, she will slow down and explain every detail of her plan or idea.

The oversized loops in the letters "y" and "g" relate to her PHYSICAL being.

These large loops spotlight an active imagination and a lot of energy. They show her enjoying healthy physical drives... both sexually and in her achieving her ambitions.

Figure 3

The first letters in her name are much larger and encircle the other letters.

The larger letters shows the world her self-worth and confident manner... her healthy ego. By encircling her name, she is building a wall of protection around her personal and private-life.

General conclusions:

Dolly Parton started with nothing but a dream and has built an empire... an empire that she willing shares with others. We could and should take lessons from her!

These handwriting samples came from the back cover of her 1971 "Coat of Many Color's" album. My thanks to Duane Gordon (Webmaster of www.dollymania.net) and Alan Campbell ( a dollymania fan) for providing me copies of the cover to use in my analysis.
