President Ronald Reagan
|
|
Ronald
Reagan, now 91, and in the advanced stages of Alzheimer's, may,
or may not remember... but he loved Nancy with all his heart. She
was truly the light of his life. And if there's any doubt in your
mind, the samples below... and this analysis, should change your
mind.
Their 50+ year marriage is definitely "for better or for worse,
in sickness and in health... until death do us part".

Time
changes ALL of us...
An analysis of President Ronald Reagan's handwriting reveals a lot about
his temperament and character. Let's take a look at 3 different samples,
written over a period of 20 years... Figure 1 written in 1963 while he
was a Hollywood actor, Figure 2 and 3 in 1977 after serving as Gov. of
California for 8 years, and Figure 4 written in 1983 while he was President
of the United States.
(To
maintain the integrity of the sample, the following images are large,
and will take a few moments to download. Thank you for your patience.)

Slant
His
handwriting samples have very little slant to them, instead, they're almost
vertical. This trait is indicative of the President keeping his inner
feelings to himself UNTIL he was ready to share them. He was very selective
about what he shared and with whom.
Margins
Having
the perspective of seeing each of the letters intact makes commenting
on the margins much easier than the examples show.
- In
Figure 1, the margin on the left is very narrow... showing a person
interested in his past.
- In
Figure 2 and 3, the left margin has gotten wider, indicating his attention
to the present.
- And
in Figure 4, the left margin is very wide, telling us that he was looking
toward the future...
his bid for the Presidency.

Spacing
of his letters...
A
very noticeable trait is the wide spacing between his words, indicating
a generous spirit for those causes or persons that he felt was totally
deserving of his attention. He could reach out to others who were less
fortunate than himself without putting a personal attachment with it.
If
you were to draw a straight line under each word, you'd notice that his
writing stays mostly on the line. This fairly straight line shows his
willpower, reliability, and common sense. His behavior is steady and consistent.

Now,
let's look at some specific's of his handwriting...
Characteristics
in the small letter "t" reveals several aspects of his personality.
His
"t-bar" is located very high on the stem, which tells us that
he was ambitious and set very high goals for himself. There are some of
the t-bar's that are even above the stem indicating that he was, at times,
a dreamer... setting goals so high that they were a bit unrealistic.
The
"t-bars" have a blunt ending, which indicates an ability to
speak in a positive and confident manner... even if he had no idea what
he was talking about. A really good trait for a politician and actor,
don't you agree?
The
letter "i" has the dot 2-3 letters from the stem or high above
the stem.
The
dot high above the stem or off the the right, signifies a lack of attention
to details. President Reagan was more interested in the over-all-picture
than each and every minute detail. He could leave the details to others
and focus on the entire picture.

The
humps on the letters "m" and "n" are both rounded
and pointed on top.
The
humps having both round AND very pointed tops indicate that he was both
a cumulative and comprehensive thinker. He could evaluate the information
provided him, see any problem that the idea might have, and then quickly
make the necessary corrections to make the situation work correctly. If
the problem couldn't be solved logically, he would use his imagination
and come up with a different solution.
The
loops in the letters "y" and "p" relate to his PHYSICAL
being.
Both
the "y" and "p" letters have a good sized lower loop.
This shows that President Reagan had very healthy physical drives... both
in his ambition and also sexually.
General
conclusions:
The
samples we've looked at show President Reagan to be a truly compassionate,
caring, individual. The way he signs his letters to Nancy, are indicative
of a person who is very comfortable with his self-image and isn't afraid
to display his feelings on paper.
Please
keep both President Reagan and Nancy in your thoughts and prayers. And
if you're inclined... make a donation to the Alzheimer's
Association in his name. Perhaps your gift will help provide the
research to stop this horrible disease.
Till
next time...
PS...
(update 8/30/07) - If you have a loved one who is has been diagnosed with
